For the occasion of CRAC in Context's participation in the Stockholm Art Fair, we are offering a few specials. First, there's a text/sound profile of IT guru Nicholas Negroponte, who we caught up with on his lightning tour of Sweden. We're also presenting artist Leif Elggren's insert "God's Name" which invites you to participate. We have roughly twenty texts and a large number of video sequences, sounds, and images marked as "new," including some of our recent content that continues to be highly relevant. In addition, you will find material starting with the first issue of CRAC in Context. We've placed older and newer content side-by-side because we believe it's important to see the connection between them. Initially, we emphasized a historical perspective in many of the texts, the reason being that we thought-and continue to think-that it's important to provide a background for art and its relation to "new media." Now, we're turning our attention to the future. As usual youŽll find presentations of and interviews with a number of artists who are members of CRAC. You can also read contributions by a group of international writers, art critics, academics, artists and curators involved in the fields of new technology and contemporary art and culture. Click on our banners containing inserts to view independently presented works of art. This is where you will find Leif Elggren's project made specifically for the web. And remember, all previous texts, interviews, videos, image files and sound files are archived at CRAC in Context. They are still topical, interesting, entertaining, difficult to chew, and easy to digest. Enjoy!
