Translation devices include then people, methods, machines. Each of these develop pathways to move from one set of statements to another. In other words each system evolves an architectonics of space to relate the statements it accepts or rejects and puts in place, at specific points in the system, where translations between itself and others is seen as possible. In our ordinary language we say things like "before we can agree about any thing we have to agree on this". this sort of statement indicates the placement of a translation device, the place it occupies in the space of a system. If the placement is similar to the placement on the others we can have concurrence; if not then we see things like "no, this other thing is the more important".

In our lives we move from one set of spaces to another and are continually called upon to recognize the pathways of statements in concurrence with the spaces put forth. A seminar on Kantian Categories calls forth one thing as opposed to a Neo-classical Government building. You must follow the rules of the space and use translations between yourself and it in very differing degrees, and at continually differing places in the mechanism.
